The Art Center In Grand Junction CO was founded in 1937 and is a nonprofit organization. It’s dedicated to an environment of enriching lives through the arts, education and community programs.
This center supports itself with its own revenue sources such as ticket sales, memberships, admission fees and private donations. They also receive support from Grand Junction City Council and Mesa County Commission.
The first classes were held on the second floor of the remodeled Lawrence Opera House that was located at 7th Street and Grand Avenue in Grand Junction CO. A new facility for this center opened on January 12, 1940 at 832 Main street which is currently known as Santa Fe Place in Grand Junction CO. They moved to its current location at 660 Rimrock Avenue in 1969.
The Art Center In Grand Junction offers many programs for children, youth and adults. It also includes social opportunities for all ages! This center has classes in music, theatre, visual arts, photography and more. The Art Center In Grand Junction is open during the day time Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and on Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This center is closed on Sundays but does have some special events that are open to the public throughout the year. Admission prices vary at this place depending on what you want to see or participate in!
